Dozens of Groups Sign Letter Supporting Strong Alcohol Laws and Public Health as Controversial Committee Recommends Changes

Diverse groups today announced they have signed a joint letter supporting Michigan’s alcohol laws as essential to public safety and widely distributed it, including to Gov. Rick Snyder and legislators, as a controversial committee weighs radical changes to the laws. The changes being considered include allowing significantly more alcohol licenses, increasing exposure of alcohol to minors; allowing alcohol to be sold closer to churches and schools; allowing beer makers to also distribute and sell beer; and more.
