Michigan Beverage Wholesalers Consortium
Since 1996, the MBWC has been offering beer and wine wholesalers complete, convenient, and cost-effective solutions to federally mandated drug and alcohol testing requirements for regulated employee classifications as well as comprehensive testing capabilities for a member’s total workforce, when the employer member requires such testing.
MBWC, a drug and alcohol testing consortium designed to meet the unique needs of the members of the Michigan Beer and Wine Wholesalers Association, partners with National Toxicology Specialists (NTS) to provide:
- Formulation, monitoring, and updating of employee selection pool for those with commercial drivers licenses (CDL)
- Collection site set-up
- Drug testing services, medical review of results, reports of test results, and required record keeping
- Breath alcohol testing, including Department of Transportation (DOT) required record keeping and quality assurance validation
- Random selection service which complies with DOT guidelines
- Employee handbook on substance abuse for each enrolled employee
- Membership Manual which includes a model policy statement on drug/alcohol use and testing as required by DOT
- Driver compliance reminder quarterly report on the status of each driver’s CDL, bi-annual physical, and MVR review
The consortium also offers its members:- A separate testing pool set up to accommodate companies desiring to randomly test all their employees for drugs and alcohol
- Pre-employment, reasonable suspicion, post-accident, and follow-up testing at member pricing
